SCOTTSDALE—March 1, 2006—Childhelp and Verizon Wireless are calling on
you to help stop child abuse. For each wireless accessory sold in
Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and kiosks in metro Phoenix,
Arizona from March 1-31, 2006, the company will donate $1 to Childhelp,
up to a maximum donation of $15,000.
The promotion will run as a prelude to the Childhelp National Day of
Hope in April, Child Abuse Awareness Month. On the first Wednesday of
April, Childhelp encourages people across the country to light
three-wick candles and observe three minutes of silence or prayer in
recognition of the three children who die each day from abuse, and the
millions more who suffer. Learn about additional information about ways
to participate in the National Day of Hope.
Verizon Wireless is a recognized corporate leader in the effort to curb domestic abuse through its HopeLine® program.
